Thermal Bath Zurzach

In the small town of Bad Zurzach, located halfway between the city of Basel and Lake Constance, lies the Thermal Bath Zurzach. Since 1965, the warm spring water from the Glauber's salt spring has been flowing to the surface here, providing pure relaxation for body and mind. This unassuming place along the Rhine has become one of Switzerland's most significant spa towns due to its spring water. It is also not surprising that the town's landmark, the so-called Tower, is part of the popular spa.

A glimpse into the past

In 1914, the healing spring water in Bad Zurzach was discovered by chance. During a test drilling in search of rock salt, the Swiss stumbled upon warm spring water at a depth of 420 meters with a temperature of 39.9° Celsius. At that time, however, other natural resources were considered more valuable, and it was not until 1955 that the first small bathing facility was opened. People quickly recognized the beneficial effects of the water, making the spa a popular excursion destination. In 1966, the present Thermal Bath Zurzach was founded, which has been continuously expanded and modernized.
