Rank 3: Manufacture of Dreams
Another relatively young attraction in the Ore Mountains: The experience museum Manufacture of Dreams in Annaberg-Buchholz.
The Museum of the Ore Mountains
Opened in 2010, the museum features Ore Mountain folk art to admire, dream about, and participate in. It houses around 1,500 exhibits from all parts of the Ore Mountains, primarily from the period between 1890 and 1930. These were lovingly collected by Erika Pohl-Ströher.
The objects not only reflect true craftsmanship but also unique skill, creativity, and above all, the hard work put into each piece. A large portion of the objects in the Manufacture of Dreams represents the Saxon-Ore Mountain Christmas culture as well as the Ore Mountain toy production.
See-Do-Amaze

Do: This section centers around the creation and development of the individual pieces. What materials were used, who is the artist, or what work techniques were applied?
Amaze: The final part of the tour is illuminated by Ore Mountain pyramids, chandeliers, and light figures. The unique lighting design perfectly completes the tour.
Rank 4: Pressnitztalbahn
Another popular attraction in the Ore Mountains: The historic narrow-gauge railway - the Pressnitztalbahn.

Use for passenger transport
In 1892, the railway line was opened and ran 25 km from Wolkenstein to Jöhstadt. Until the 1980s, the Pressnitztalbahn was primarily used for freight transport in the area. It was only afterwards that it was, albeit briefly, used for passenger transport.
Nostalgic ride on the historic train
Since the early 1990s, the Pressnitztalbahn has only operated for nostalgic and tourist purposes as a museum railway. It runs for 8 km between Jöhstadt and Steinbach.
