Our number one attraction can only be the most famous street in the city. Stretching 6.5 miles, the Strip runs through Las Vegas. It is home to the vast majority of themed hotels and casinos that are responsible for the unique atmosphere of the city.

Each themed hotel is essentially an attraction in itself. They are inspired by various countries. A stroll through a French village, alongside Venetian canals, or through ancient Egypt - everything is possible in Las Vegas.

With ever more fantastic installations, hotels lure in visitors. In Las Vegas, for example, you will find a Statue of Liberty or an Eiffel Tower. One of the most famous attractions is the artificial volcano in front of the Mirage Hotel & Casino, which spews fire into the night every evening after dark.

The most iconic design of the city is the Las Vegas Sign at the southern end of the Las Vegas Strip. It stands just behind the Mandalay Bay hotel and welcomes visitors with the iconic phrase 'Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas.'

American designer Betty Willis created the street sign in 1959. Since she never protected her design with a copyright, it can now be found on nearly all souvenirs in the city. Since the original naturally attracts many tourists, the city established a parking lot in 2008 on the median strip in front of the sign, allowing visitors to take their photo.

Did you know? On the back of the sign, which is visible when leaving the Strip, it says 'Drive Carefully, Come Back Soon.'

While the Las Vegas Strip has now eclipsed Fremont Street as the most significant street in the city, Fremont Street was once the entertainment center of Las Vegas. Even today, several large casinos can be found here. Most notably, Fremont Street has been a partially covered pedestrian zone with various attractions since 1995.

On Fremont Street, you can shop wonderfully today or relax in one of the many charming cafes and restaurants. In between, there are artworks and street art. Adventurous visitors can soar above Fremont Street on the ZlotZilla Zipline and view the spectacle from above.

Every night, as part of the Fremont Street Experience, an impressive laser show takes place in the covered area of Fremont Street. DJs perform on various stages, creating an atmosphere that transforms the entire street into one large dance floor.

High atop the Stratosphere Tower is an observation deck where you can get the perfect 360-degree view of the dazzling Las Vegas skyline. There is no better view of the city as the Stratosphere Tower, at nearly 1,150 feet high, is the tallest freestanding observation tower in the U.S.

If the mere view is not enough for you, the Stratosphere Tower also offers various thrill rides at dizzying heights. How about a ride on a free-fall tower high above Las Vegas? Or you could alternatively take a Sky Jump from the tower - anything goes at the Stratosphere Tower.

A completely free attraction in Las Vegas is located in front of the Bellagio Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. Throughout the day, you can admire the fantastic Fountain Show, which is now well-known beyond the city limits.

The Bellagio's water organ is over 300 feet long. About 1,200 water jets and 5,000 spotlights make the water dance to various pieces of music. The music regularly changes and is often adapted to the season, for example, featuring holiday songs.

Tip: At the Bellagio Hotel's reception, you can get a list of the current showtimes for the fountains as well as the pieces of music being played.

Las Vegas wouldn't be Las Vegas without the many glowing neon signs. But what happens to the signage after it's replaced by newer signs? The answer: It ends up at the Neon Museum of Las Vegas, the 'graveyard' for retired neon signs.

The neon signs only really come into their own when it gets dark. For this reason, the Neon Museum also offers tours in the evening. While only a fraction of the over 200 signs still shine on their own, the others are illuminated by spotlights to give an impression of their once bright appearance.

The Linq is the relatively new shopping and entertainment district of Las Vegas. Between the Flamingo and The Linq hotels, formerly the Imperial Palace, lies a beautifully designed shopping promenade with all imaginable stores, restaurants, and cafes.

Atop the shopping promenade towers the world's currently largest observation wheel. The High Roller stands at almost 550 feet and completes one full rotation in half an hour. The view from the cabins of the wheel over the city is phenomenal!

Within the Linq Hotel is another attraction. In one of the most beautiful car collections in the world, 200 vehicles are on display in the hotel's premises, with rare models and rarities, such as cars owned by Eisenhower or Mussolini.

If you need a change of scenery between buffets, enjoy a shopping spree along the Forum Shops at Caesars. This exclusive shopping promenade features over 160 stores, boutiques, and galleries. A highlight is the artificial sky, which simulates a full day from dawn to sunset in one hour.

At the Mirage Hotel, there are two animal highlights. One is the dolphinarium, where you can learn a lot about these fascinating marine animals and also attend shows. You can even swim with the dolphins.

The second attraction of the Mirage is a small zoo featuring white tigers, lions, panthers, and leopards. The big cats previously starred in the stage show of magicians Siegfried & Roy and found their new home at the Mirage Hotel after their show ended.
